Corporate Overview

COBRA Holdings is a major UK-based retail and wholesale insurance broking group providing a wide range of services to its network members, agents and clients.

The Group consists of:

COBRA Network: one of the fastest-growing networks of commercial insurance brokers in the UK, with in excess of 100 independent insurance brokers.

COBRA Insurance Brokers: COBRA Insurance Brokers are independent commercial insurance brokers providing a wide range of cost effective insurance solutions aimed at both the commercial and private sectors. COBRA Insurance Brokers was formed in January 2006 as a result of a merger between the BKG Group of companies and Truman Lincoln Ltd, who had a history stretching back over 30 years. The former companies were founder members of COBRA Network, an independent network of like-minded commercial insurance brokers.

COBRA London Markets: a Lloyd's broker offering wholesale insurance services, split into three distinct operating divisions - liability, property and international.

COBRA Underwriting Agencies: offering underwriting capacity from major UK insurers and delivering a dedicated policy range to network members.

COBRA Financial Services: a financial services company, focused on providing insurance-based, financial planning and assistance to a broad range of companies, directors and staff, as well as private individuals.

COBRA Corporate Solutions: focused on managing the placement of risks with substantial capacity requirements, complex insurance needs and global exposures for high value corporate clients.

COBRA Resource Management: provides a range of sales development, HR, Training, succession planning and purchase option services for COBRA Holdings group companies.

Each company in the Group operates as a separate business unit, while exploiting the synergies and cross-selling opportunities. The COBRA Network is the hub of the organisation, through which business flows to and from the other business in the Group, as illustrated below.

The network was established in June 2003 to assist the development of the business of the Group and the business of its network members. Independent commercial brokers are offered the benefits of working together to compete more effectively in an increasingly competitive marketplace. Membership is free and aimed at attracting commercially orientated insurance brokers currently controlling commercial gross written premium in excess of £1 million.
